Accessibility

We take accessibility very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve our website. We have worked to ensure that this site is compliant with "AA" W3C guidelines.

In addition we have introduced an Accessibility style changer to help people access content more easily.

Accessibility style changer

We have provided several different styles for you to choose from:

  • Standard size (default)
  • Pastel background, with larger text
  • High contrast \ large text

There are also options within your browser that can help you access web sites more easily and the most common one is outlined below. Please note that these may not be compatible if used in conjunction with our style changer.

Changing text size

If you have difficulty reading the text on the screen you can resize it as follows:

For Microsoft Internet Explorer

On the View menu at the top of your browser choose Text Size Increase or decrease as appropriate

For Firefox

On the View menu at the top of your browser choose Text Size Increase or decrease as appropriate

If you are using any other browser, check its 'Help' facility to find out how to resize the text. There will also be other options within your browser to help with accessibility e.g. changing text and background colours. Check your browsers help facility for instruction on how to use these functions.

Sign language

British Sign Language (BSL) video clips are available to help sign language users to better understand the emergencySMS service and how they can take part in the trial.
